Race 4:
In race 4, speeds were unrestricted in the 10-lap shootout. John Borneman held off a furious charge from Justin Allgaier and won by .008 seconds, easily the closest finish in series history. After the checkers, Borneman and Allgaier hooked fenders, and they slid into the infield and Allgaier got into the air. They slid back up the track and John Wes Townley clobbered Borneman, sending Borneman 30 feet up in the air. As he spun around in midair, Steve Arpin and Trevor Bayne also collected damage. Borneman came back down and barrel-rolled several times in the first flip in series history. With his 3rd-place finish, Brian Scott now has a 6 point lead in the ROTY race and a 29-point lead in the regular points.
